A Hawaiian cruise is a genuinely different way to see the islands compared to picking one and staying put — you can wake up off Kauai’s Na Pali Coast one morning and be docked in Honolulu the next, without repacking or catching a single inter-island flight. Most itineraries combine several of the main islands (Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island are the common stops) into a single one- to two-week sailing.
Some cruises depart from the U.S. mainland (typically Los Angeles or San Francisco) and are round-trip, which adds several sea days but skips the flight to Honolulu; others fly you in and sail interisland only, which is faster but means less time actually on the ship. Worth deciding which trade-off matters more before you book.
